Living the St. Francis Prayer

A Time of Reflection and Restoration

Friday, June 18 & Saturday, June 19, 2021

Using the St. Francis Prayer as our guide, in a beautiful lakeside setting, we will let this time-honored, gentle  prayer meet us where we are.  As we slow down, breathe in the beauty of nature all around us, we will be in the perfect setting to imagine how we might cultivate the qualities to which the prayer invites us:  Peace ~ Love ~ Forgiveness ~ Faith ~ Hope ~ Light ~ Joy.

There will be time together and time alone to walk in the woods of Penwood Forest, sit on the dock, float on the pond, or take a nap.  Gentle yoga will be offered throughout the day.

Who should attend?  If you are a woman seeking to deepen her spiritual life, if you need time to reflect and recharge in the company of other women, or if you just feel a nudge to be there, please come join us!

Schedule & What to Bring

Friday Night:  6 – 9 pm.  Bring bug spray, blanket, and a small item to place on the altar during the retreat.  This should be something meaningful to you at this time in your life.  Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the evening’s weather forecast.  You might also bring your favorite outdoor chair to sit on around the fire.

Saturday:  10 am – 4 pm   Bring lunch (refrigeration available) and a snack to share, yoga mat and blanket if you have them.  If not, they will be provided. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.  If you plan on walking in the woods, bring appropriate foot wear and if you plan to stay lakeside, bring your swimsuit and beach towel.  Everyone should bring sunscreen.

Cost:  $75.00    Includes beverages (coffee, tea, water) and all materials.  As always, you’ll go home with something we create together as a remembrance of our time together.   If cost is an issue, a payment plan can be arranged.

Space is limited to 10 attendees.  You must have proof of vaccination and be COVID symptom-free to attend.

If you have any questions, please call the retreat director, Janice Olson, at (860) 985-1883.
